Saturday
Was very muggy/sticky/slightly humid today and that did the trick of adding a sheen of moisture to all the equipment. I get more when when it's dry.

V/Gripper
Usual warm ups
L/H: L14 x 1, VN, N, N, VVN. Throughout was poor setting.
R/H: L16 x 1, 1, TnG, VVN, VVN, VVN

2HP
usual warm ups to +84.5-kilos x F, 1, 1, 1, 1, F. Skin tore (base of right thumb webbing) so stopped. Skin felt sore throughout as though healed but thin rather than the usual scar tissue. Will up by .5kg next time.

Thick pinch (87kg disc 67mm thick)
10 x 1 reps (stopped cos I could have carried on) as a finisher.

Nice bench and pinch mate! I'd be happy with 1 lift of 160kg at Christmas!

We have 2. Both were given to us by Laine Snook.

Here's a pic - it's on a 2" bar top right.

Not for a while but that's because of health issues he's dealing with.

Monday
took 1 x dico on awaking and 1 more before going to gym. Trained at GN for a change.

Seated Machine Press
1/2 stack x 8 reps, stack x 8 reps, +40-kilos x 8 reps, +80-kilos x 6 reps, +120-kilos x 6 reps, +140-kilos x 3 reps (easier on back)

Concentration DB Curl
Pre-ex'd a little with
10-kilos x 10 reps @

Alt DB Hammer curl
Did db as ezb hurts back (ie: heavy ass weights and cheating)
20-kilos x 8 reps@, 25-kilos x 8 reps@, 27.5-kilos x 6 reps@, 30-kilos x 6 reps@.

TPD
stack x 8 reps, +20-kilos x 8 reps, +40-kilos x 8 reps, +55-kilos x 8 reps
I may finish next time at my own (assuming next session isn't at mine) cos I cannot add more weight to this machine.

Nice pumps
Bwt: according to GN scales 20st 7lbs (287lbs)!!

?? It's just a loading pin through the plate and it's tilted cos it fell over.

Wednesday
Was sweating throughout but didn't think it was that warm. Hmm.

T/Gripper work
B/H: usual
L/H: BBE x 1,1,1, VVN, VN (handle slipped), VVN
R/H: 3.5 x 1 rep, BBSE x 1,1,1, TnG, TnG, 1 reps. Not bad at all.

2HP
Equ x 6 reps, +30-kilos x 3 reps, +50-kilos x 1 rep, +70-kilos x 1 rep (slippage), +72.5 (should have been 75) x 1 rep, +80-kilos x 1 rep, +82.5-kilos x q rep, +85-kilos x F, off floor but no pull through, 1/2 up so stopped.

Dragged out 20-kilos 'Blob' and did a few singles with each hand. Set up a pair of 15kg discs and did the same. Added a light pin and did more of the same. Added 2.5-kilos and bombed with the left but did 2 x 1 reps right handed.

Note to self: as I was struggling AGAIN today it occurred to me that I might look back at whatever I was doing in April/May when I nearly pulled the target weight I have for xmas. A quick look shows I was doing some blob work, some one hand pinch work, thick handled dumbbells and a little RT. Now of course this was because I had the Peter Horne comp, the British AND the Chad Woodall event in those 2 months to think about but even so the thumb was getting well worked. I remembered some of this during training so did some of the above but also need to consider adding parts of it in.

If so I should consider thus: 1 x max (ie: 4-8 x 1 reps with max weight) session. One x volume (so 90kilos all in or so times 12-20 x 1 reps) and one x one handed work session all on rotation.

Nice benching yesterday Steve it's climbing slowly again!

Yeah it has definitely been hot today mate i been in t shirt and shorts all day aswell, it's cos we are 280+ we don't feel the cold like these stick insects going around in their coats.

Good plan for the pinch!

Wednesday pm
Hmm. As can be seen nowt wrong with this workout. What that says about my grip I dunno (in light of the am post) but here it is:

2HP - volume
usual warm ups to +70-kilos (91.7) x 1, 1, 1, 1, 2, 3, 3, reps

RT
loaded the 87-kilo disc and did 2 x 6 reps with each hand
