Re: Muscles & Medals Strength Challenge results
Well done to all, especially since I don't think anyone trained for this comp.
Nice to meet new and old friends.
I hope Lol's arm/shoulder pull is ok. Tell me what the doc says.
For next year we'll get 5 new old-skool events lined up for the contest - see you then.

Re: Muscles & Medals Strength Challenge results
Just got back, had a nice day and it was good to put david under a bit of pressure athough consistency won through on the day.
probably should have pressed the baby inch but its surprisingly heavy after 21 reps with the other bells.
Never want to see or perform another Zercher as long as I live (severe bruising starting to come through on the forearm)
Great to see everyone and will be looking forward to next time.

Re: Muscles & Medals Strength Challenge results
Firstly a HUGE thank you to David and Liz for welcoming me and my son into their home, hope we didn't disgrace ourselves in any way.
Regards the contest I absolutely loved it from start to finish. A couple of tactical errors on selecting weights cost me a place or two higher finish but that's all part of the learning curve I'm on. My proudest moment was the Zercher, which I didn't even think I was going to do since I haven't squatted since I was 19 and haven't deadlifted more than 100Kg before due to a lack of weights, so to pull 140Kg was great and I think 150-160Kg was doable but I ran out of lifts.
I'd just like to point out that Alex and I were the only ones lifting RAW and feel we deserve a higher total
The shoulder/bicep pull on the Inch is audible on videotape as three crunches
At the moment it's okay but will have to see what happens, praying it's just a strain.
Once again a great day and it was good to meet Jim, Richard, Stewart and Alex who are all great guys.
Next year? Body willing
Just like to add that video has confirmed I am a fat git who really needs to lose weight.

Stew,
Yes the 21 reps before a seated press of the baby Inch suddenly is enough.
Lol,
Nice to meet you and well done. Hopefully we'll see you next year - wherever we are (but hey we may still be where we are!)

Shoulder update: been to docs and he had a good prod around. Wants me to give it a week of ice and gentle rotations and then go back if no better and he'll send me back to the shoulder man at the hospital. Can't guarantee I haven't torn anything and were praying for strain!

Re: Muscles & Medals Strength Challenge results
Well it's good news that it's no bicep.
You already knew you needed the shoulder sorted, so if it's the shoulder, get the op.

Cheers Nick.
It was a quick fun comp done with some cool items. I didn't take any photos, too busy reffing or lifting.
