Icelandic Stones of Strength
Flights to Iceland from the US are very low right now. Plus, one of the deals I've seen includes a 2-night stay at a decent hotel in the already low price of the flight. Something around $650 per person from one of three cities. It'd take us a few hundred to get to Minneapolis, MN. Then tack on the $650. But my wife and I are giving it serious thought and it helps that some relatives are wanting to help send us over too. It hinges on whether she can get the time off though because things are busy in her life of work. So I'm crossing my fingers!
I've looked online for stones of strength in Iceland. All I have found referenced is the Husafell Stone. That's cool and all, but frankly, I don't have a chance in hell of budging that thing from the ground. And walking with it is going to happen when pigs fly. I don't remember where but I thought I had read once (maybe in an old MILO) that there are also 3 stones of strength on a beach in Iceland. Like a 100lber, a bigger one, then a several-hundred pound stone that gets one the title of "full sterkur." I just can't find this info when I searched last week.
If any of you know the locations of some stones of strength, or just some strength challenges in Iceland that are more on the human-moderate side (lol) please let me know. My wife is very supportive of all my strength exploits and wants to go when we can catch a big IFSA strongman competition too since we watch those on TV.
There are definitely other places I want to visit (Europe, etc) but I'm looking at this opportunity as possibly a once-in-a-lifetime chance to get the super low prices that are being offered due to Iceland's unfortunate looming economic collapse.

Excellent, thanks so much for the link! I'll see what I can do and hopefully I'll be reporting about some Icelandic adventures before too long.

We haven't set the date actually. She is trying to get the time off from work first. Mine is an office job so it's a bit easier to request time off without a long notice. Our plans may be changed by a move due to a job change from either of us too. And that sucks! I really want to go. I'll definitely keep you guys updated as I find out yes or no.
