yeah that's gotta hurt. not as bad as the one I seen in a powerlifting documentary though where the bar falls on the guys face during a competition (so you know it's heavy). not a nice thing to see.

I have had a similar accident. I used a thumbless grip and a twelve pack of budwiser. When un racking the weight the bar rolled off my hands, i tried to slow it down with my elbows, the bar landed on my stomach. The impact made my spine cut my liver 4 " cut. I almost died. I had exploritory surgery and two weeks in the hospital. I have a hard time watching that vid.

As many know I carried mail for many years. I had a boss once who talked about the "Rule of 300". He said you can do something unsafe for maybe 300 times before it bites you on the butt. I don't know if the number is important or just the message that if you do something stupid long enough - it will catch up with you. Don't bench like that - we have all seen too many times where this happens.

That is terrible, how long ago did that happen to you?
