I hate banks!

[rant]I've just paid my Barclaycard off using my online Halifax bank account. It was a doddle and thanks to the new faster payment scheme Barclaycard will have their money within 2 hours.

Then I tried to pay my Halifax credit card to find that online it takes 4 working days.

And I'm not allowed to make the payment today, or rather, I can make the payment today but it won't get sent out today.

Or tomorrow.

Or Sunday.

So I rang them to make a payment over the phone where it only takes 3 working days.

Why, in the name of unholy FUCK!!! Can my HALIFAX account pay BARCLAYCARD in 2 hours, but my HALIFAX account takes a week to pay my HALIFAX cards???

Having just been overdrawn for the first time in 20 years (long story involving rent) ask Paul Savage what he thinks of his bank right now (part of the same story). Pain-in-the-ass.

Halifax are SHITE! I had an current account with them some years ago and if you got down to a balance of £15 then you couldn't touch it as it was held for bank charges! A friend at the time opened an account with them for his new job's wages to be paid into. The money went in but they wouldn't let him draw it out because Halifax had delayed part of the account creation process and this guy's stood there with his wife and kids needing money out the bank for food and rent! Tossers

my account is sometimes frozen due to irregular activity - they know i am self employed and the money always comes from the same place.
Was sat in a restaurant with my girlfriend one day unable to use my card to pay as barleys had frozen it - the reason this time - i had bought a mobile phone cover from a website that had been scammed earlier that day!

In fact part of my own recent kicking off involved not being able to get my shopping ordered on-line. If I hadn't had some of the winning from the US event handy I'd have been in the shit.

You would think seeing as we the public own most of HBOS they would get their shit together and remember who pays their wages!

as someone who had the displeasure of working for them for 5 months, I can back this statement 100%! their staff are treated and paid poorly aswell, and it's sad that more staff don't help out customers as I know they have more leeway than they let on, but the management breed a culture and ethos of fucking people over whenever possible.
