Big NADS Grip Challenge
As part of a trade with our favourite Scaustraliot James Grahame, I present the Big NADS (Northwich and District Summer) Grip Challenge.
Saturday 25th July.
Events:
Vulcan 20mm block set
vbar
Rolling Thunder
Spade lift (like a front weaver with weight on the spade head)
7lb Sledge hammer finger walking, max trips in 1 min.
Only one hand to be contested in the first four events BUT you have to use each hand twice so choose carefully. Usual rules, four lifts, rising bar except on the grippers, no hook grip on the vbar, RT regular or thumbless grip allowed. The spade lift will commence from about 12" off the ground and you have to stand erect with it without the weights sliding off. Take warm up attempts as needed. On the finger walking the the hammer is held between your finger tips and 'walked' all the way up till you touch the head, then lowered under control. Partial reps will be marked on with a pen.
This will be an informal contest, hopefully with a barby after. Let me know if you would like to attend
Cheers
Paul

Sam, it would be great if you could make it, I'm not too arsed about having loads of notice, other than to know what to get in for the barby, so if you could let me know by a few days before that would be fine.

It has potential as my daughter has just moved to Whaley Bridge, however I'm committed so far to Davids event so we will have to see, will let you know nearer the time. Wife won't let me have too much fun

Re: Big NADS Grip Challenge
I would normally have loved to do this but unfortunately with the team strongman comp the following week and David's comp the week after I think I will have to give it a miss.
Looks a great comp though and I'm sure everyone will have a good time.
Are there any video's online of the finger walking the hammer you mention as this sounds quite interesting?

Stew, it's the first exercise shown in this diesel crew vid, the two handed one:

Gives a nice pump after a while, I think it will be a good finisher

Excellent
Other than the responses above I haven't heard owt, but I'm hoping to coerce one or two mates into having a go, mainly to ensure there'll be someone there I can beat

always useful to have someone you can beat there. it's like taking an ugly mate out with you chasing girls so they get the munters
