Wrist Developer

Post  David Horne on Wed Jan 28, 2009 4:38 pm

This topic is requested by my friend from Ukraine - Dmitriy.

Are you using it in your training ? On which level ? How many reps ?

I am not using right now in my training. I use it any time I am bending steel, but I haven't bent anything for a long time.

I actually train on one of the Prototypes (see photo), and I have a few of these. The notches are slightly different. But I would train at 3 notches along each side for full range reps. At this time I was bending 6-6.5" Bastard Bars (tough stock). I would after a warm up, train from hard to light. Low reps to high reps. It was nice to finish on something easy. Now I would also finish on the Orbigrip, to make it all feel good.

I would use this for most of the 'Reverse Bending' training, and put maybe only 2 bends with steel in a week. Remember this was just for Reverse Bending, as this is really the only unbraced bending I would do.

Hope this helps.

Hugo Thanks!

But I think that the likes of Gazza, Michael Hadland and Pat Povialitis are probably the top 3 in this style.

I like "Wrist Developer" very much, but currently I can only do 3 singles on level 1 and that is amazingly hard for me. If anybody have video with Wrist Developer trainings, please share it ....

Dmitriy,
If you want to do some reps, take the spring off and put some strong elastic bands on instead, and build up that way.

Tell me how you get on.

David, when will they be available again?

I stopped ordering the wrist developer as sales had slowed down so much, but I have had some interest in them lately so have placed a small order with my manufacturer for another batch. I expect to get the new ones in 3-4 weeks.

I have already sold one of the new batch of wrist developers, and if anyone would like to pre-order one and pay for it now, so that you are sure to get one when they become available, you can do that and I will ship it as soon as I get them. If you'd like to do this, just purchase one using the button on my website and I will set it aside for you.

I'll def have one too David - didn't get the first time around.

By the way, David and Nick - I forgot to tell you, there was a really interesting 4 page interview with Diane Bennett in the Telegraph mag this weekend - many pics of Wag and of the gym in Forest Gate we went to - very very good stuff. i'm going to scan it and send it along - perhaps we can put it up online?
