This is probably a combination of a lack of caffeine from the usual pre-workout brown stuff and no endorphins floating around ...

Last night's workout:

Squats: 100kg x 20 in just over 4 mins

Pull overs: 10 with 14lb block weight

Collapse.

I've incorporated 20 rep squats about once or twice a week since May when I started with 60kg at a bodyweight of about 140 lb. My current weight is 147 lb so I've made some gains in size, but not quite on the scale associated with 20 rep squats. I've clearly made gains in strength as back in May I was only doing 100kgx 5.

80kg x 20 had been a target, but I felt ...

Today was a great day I was a Junkyardboy today. I found a one piece of steel there. 7 feet long, 2" thick bar, so that is a perfect Thickbar for me 33 kg´s is the weight of that. Also my my friend was ready to sell me some metal plates, nice to me. 80kg´s total. Those are perfect for my Old Aparatus, which need 30mm diameter hole discs. This was a Prologue to my training log, which start on sunday.

My bodyweight has went from about 13 stones (with a belly) to 20 stone 1lb last saturday (still with a belly!). Strength wise im lifting 4-5 times what i was back then. Ive just came off a disapointing 2nd place at the british grip championships last saturday, losing out to european champion steve gardener. ...

I've gotten into kettlebells and have set a few goals for myself in the 10min 1 arm snatch test. No limit on arm switch.

Goals for the Snatch:

200 reps with 30lb By July 4th

200 reps with 24kg/53lb No idea, I don't have one yet, never tried one

200 reps with 32kg/70lb This one will be measured in years

Recorded here will only be kettlebell work. I hit grip and other weightlifting 3 times a week. Kettlebells will be done on the same day as grip and other weightlifting.

Seems like a good place to keep track of my nail breaking. I am doing this for 2 reasons.

1. Develop strength in the hands, wrists and forearm for armwrestling

2. I have a ton of bent nails laying around and it seems like a good way to get a workout without spending more money.

Start today. I have broken nails before but never tried to keep track of how fast I can do them. Also, I have zero technique for this skill, I will be watching vids tonight on how to do it so my next workout ...

I've messed around with weights on and (mainly) off since I was 20; now 23 and this is the first time I've taken stuff seriously and even kept a log. Inspiration provided by Brooks K's Dino Training, with the aim to get more and more into strongman as my lifts increase and time passes. 12 week phase, aiming for: 100kg bench, 140kg squat, 190kg trap bar deadlift and 85kg axle C&P by Monday 22nd June.

So far this week:

This will likely be the only comp I'll do this year as I have a baby due in May

So I'll try to make a decent run at it and see if I can get less of a pumping than usual. I make it 12 weeks from today. Plan is:

Monday:

Squat

Vulcan gripper

Press

Pulldown or rope chins

Tuesday:

2HP

One hand deadlift progression (thumbless -> normal -> hook)

May drop these and just do them after regular deadlifts on Thursday, will see how my recovery is.

TTK

Wrist work
