David - on the GB - Zach has asked who all has pinched bodyweight on your Euro setup in competition? I'm thinking you probably did on your WR lift but I'm not sure what you weighed at the time. Can you advise me of the stats please? I'm also unsure of many of the Europeans bodyweight at the time of their lifts? Can you help out?

Guys,

Who would be interested in a grip comp in Edinburgh?

I am looking to get something organised for the future but not sure who else is in my area (or wants to travel) to a comp.

I have a garage which I can use for a daytime comp. It is part of a series of quiet lockups so the venue is not a problem and we can make as much noise as we want.

I just need competitors. Anyone interested?

Hi,

the next 7th November, there will be the 1st contest of Rolling Thunder in Spain.

Venue: Sideropolis Gym

Date: 7th November

Hour: 17:00

Inscription fee: 10 euro

5 attempts per lifer and both hands.

Unlucky for me, i can´t go to this contest as i'm in London right now

Anyway, my friends from Madrid are doing a great job and the next year the Spanish Grip Champs could have 15-20 lifters.

Finnish Grip Championships

As I predicted the former WSM did NOT win but did place 3rd (not too shabby).

Ironmind reports: Juha Harju had the winning grip in Finland over the weekend. Janne Virtanen and Timo Tuukkanen are relatively new to grip strength contests, but are having fun and making their presence felt. The top lift on the IronMind Rolling Thunder was 90 kg. Juha Harju set a new Finnish record on the European pinch grip device, lifting 100 kg. Three competitors closed the IronMind ...

Hello all,

This year it'll probably happen in October or there around. Events will probably be (order not set yet):

- rim lift

- table curl on thick DB

- eagle loops DL 2 fingers a side

- 2H plate wrist curl (max weight)

- medley

- thick vbar

- and maybe a finisher like heavy duck walk or dinnie lift for reps

should be fun, lots of new events for many of us.

Many thanks to heavy grip tools for sponsoring the comp again this year!

ps: of course this competition ...

Congratulations and thanks to everyone who organised and competed in the first Australian Rolling Thunder Championships. Between us, we have made it the best attended grip comp ever in Australia!

With some of the debates, I am suprised something like this isn't more popular. I like it much more than the credit card deal.

I think I am the only one who has had TNS stuff as an event, and really with the narrow grippers it isn't bad. Starting at 2.5" with a narrow gripper is easier than the credit card cause the tension isn't bad at the beginning, so it doesn't hurt the small handed guys as much. Sure, it isn't a ...

David, could you add this to your top-3 list please?

Three guys were unable to attend , leaving 6 hardy competitors. Tristan and Chris were both sporting shoulder/arm injuries that impacted their crushing ability and some other lifts during the comp.

Event 1: Vulcan (set with non-gripping hand)

Tristan woods R=0 L = 7

These were going to be done over a weekend, but unforseen problems have made these impossible to organise properly now.

Hopefully in another 4 years time the current economic mess the country is in will not be here.

My next question is will the events be very similar (or the same) or do you think you'll switch them up entirely? And how early would you announce the finalized contest events?

Will it be open to any competitor, or will I have to qualify in a contest in the US? I'm cutting down my contest entries to 1 a year ...
