Hi,

not been bending seriously at all the last week, just some fun bends of nails this morning. I have found out that I can bend IM yellow and it's very good! Easier than last week aswell.

However I just can't budge my comparaison to IM Blue. Maybe I will get some progress when I concentrate on nail bending and #3 is out of the way.

So what do you do when a nail just wont bend at all? Do I keep trying or is this futile and likely to injure me?

Tried bolt cutting a notch into it but ...

I did a couple of singles with position(2,2) using the blue spring; i am confused about the level i am using.

David said its 20% easier , so what level is (2,2) using the blue spring?

other quest ... if i want to replace the blue for the red/black wich position should i use,to create the position(2,2) with the blue spring?

I had a question asked of me "why do you prefer getting the Vulcan gripper over other less expensive (to you) adjustables"?

The main reason is they are a LOT more modification friendly.

One of the many mods that can be performed is the adjustable grip size mod.

I have some students who have small hands and the Vulcan, or any standard gripper for matter, is just a bit much for their hand spread... no matter how much schooling in setting the gripper takes place they still can't ...

I have noticed quite a few #160+ No.3's on the Finnish Calibration results. My opinion is, these are miss readings, and I'll be interested in seeing these #160+ grippers handed to Bob Lipinski, or even Climber for a cross cal. I would bet my money not one of them would crack the 160 barrier.

Hi,

a few months back had the CoC3 within an inch, came back to it recently and I have slipped backwards, though I have been tiring my hands with bending, levers etc. I am really trying to close it now and would like to be done by early january.

I have set myself the task of learning to set the gripper properly. I don't have huge hands and don't have that much padding on them. As I get my fingers onto the handle whilst setting the gripper, the handle in my palm just scrapes damn hard.

Hi,

started nail bending a few weeks back, at first I was using pieces thin towels (the ones you use for drying plates) and some material from an old shirt. Made pretty good progress and really liked it, then I've taken a week or so off from actual nail bending but done some wrist levering and curls. I am not training this with much intensity as I am focusing on CoC3 and the pistol squat.

The other day got the wraps from World of Grip and can now easily bend the nails I have, plus the ones ...

I am also finding it pretty humbling as my grip gives out reasonably quickly and I have to lower the weights to get a decent volume.

Does thickbar training carry over well in to other aspects of grip? I hear rave reviews...but has anyone who already had a decent grip... found an improvement in supporting grip on a normal bar...or pinch ...

I am not using right now in my training. I use it any time I am bending steel, but I haven't bent anything for a long time.

The last few weeks at the school we've been working on pressure point manipulation and pinching... which is fairly easy for most of the big strong guys, who don't really need it so much, but not very easy for the women and kids.

So I came up with a couple of nice little additions to use with the Vulcan and other grippers.

You can use a single pinch end piece if the gripper has an extended handle... like the one below. Or you can use two with a standard gripper (the CoC guide and sport ...

The Thumbscrew looks really cool(congrats Paul and David)

just curious ... how hard it would be to close it using the easier set(1,1) and the easier spring(blue)? this is just a prediction because its related with my pinch/thumb power.

I can close the VHG using level 12 , would it be possible for me to close it at the easier position using the The Thumbscrew?(blue spring). i am asking because i hate use elastic bands;these tools looks very hardcore ...they are asking for springs ...

I found on another site the Joe Kinney video is to be re-released with an extra 2 hours footage of the man himself offering training tips etc Now I haven't seen the original so don't know it's worth but for those who have seen the original with the bonus of the 2 hour extras does the new release look like a good buy?

I posted this on the GB and it's nowhere to be seen. All I can think is because it's on John Woods site, someone who I believe some members of the grip world have emnity.

As many of you know, I am new to the whole grip training by using handgrippers world... but have been able to progress fairly quickly by using various grippers including the Vulcan as it is, the Vulcan modified into a "secret weapon", the RB adjustable modified with a BTR grind and ground in fingergrips, the CoC collection, and a couple of hand dynamometers to mark the real progress.

Anyway, about a month ago I decided to try and find the most efficient and best method for improving ...

How do they go on the bar? It looks like there is a slit in them so do you just open them up a bit and put them over the bar?

How are they for slipping around on the bar?

I can't afford a Euro set up at the moment so I've got 2x20lb plates which are 380 mm high and less than 1cm thick. I've sandwiched another shorter plate in between these giving a total width of 40mm. There is an internal gap of about 20mm between the outside plates. I'll list my questions;

1) Does a gap between the plates make much of a difference for practising? ...

finding stones to pinch lift?

Just started down the wonderous path of grip training to mix in with my kettlebell training

I've already outgrown all the stones I have in my back garden, heaviest I could find was 12.9kg and did that yesterday

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N_AJEqd6n4o

Any tips on where to look for bigger stones? Made my own makeshift pinch lifting thing as seen in the video (very crude but it works), but I like the challenge of lifting stones and other weird shaped objects

HGT 25kg 'blobs'. Need ideas

This might be better in the buy/sale/trade section. Just scoping for interest really.

I have 2x25kg HGT 'blobs' which I don't need (too wide and heavy for me).

I was thinking about welding them to a 2.25 inch piece of metal which I have, and making a thick dumbell This would give me a thick dumbell for training. It is not an ideal inch trainer but better than nothing.

On the other hand, I could ship them back from Oz in my pallette and maybe trade them toward a better inch ...
