Just spotted these for sale- I've already got a 6lb pair and they're very ornate. Don't think the cord on the handles is original as I think it was a thin red twine, but they might make a nice addition to somebody's collection.

I'm currently bidding on them, but if an enthusiast on here wants them please let me know as I don't want to raise your bids, I'd just like them to go to a good home. Bedfordshire's a bit of a trek for me, but I could probably make a day of it and visit Pullum's as well.

Hi David

I prepared these to ask you in an email but decided to post here as it chimed so well with the previous post:

Is it true to think that a rounded edge disk will most usually be pre-war or just after

What's the 'rarest' UK disc to find, besides an Inch?

And do you know what an Inch disc would look like anyway? Is there a pic anywhere in your collection?

How 'rare' are the C.W.L.C. discs? Picked up some more the other day, also any news on those R.E.W. discs? I have 4 I've ...

We had a beautiful day away to the seaside at Llandudno and the area the other day. On the way home I went and picked some old discs from a chap in Wigan. In fact I'd bought them not fully knowing what I'd bought. There was just under 300lb of weight there including George Grose, and more impressively some Charles Heap & Co, and Trevor discs. These were great finds, and I'm really pleased to have them in my collection, and of course use them. The Charles Heap discs are shown in the 1914 book ...

Help!

This is really frustrating. I am sure I read an article on a UK website several months ago. It had a scanned article from an old mag which talked about powerlifting at its inception.

It told of some battles between the UK and USA and mentioned that the original length of knee wraps was REALLY long...way bigger than 2.5m. The Brits used longer wraps than the USA.

Now I can't find the website and I can't remember how long the wraps were.

All I can kinda remember is ...

Apparently they had a load of nice globe dumbells and barbells but some bloke called David bought them all

Time's running out for the rest of the gear, which sadly will be scrapped if nobody takes it.

I drove over to the old Broad St. location, now shut down and boarded up.

I'm trying to work out how to get pictures uploaded- hopefully this should work.

Two single dumbells, one made by "CARRON"-4.5lb and the other is marked SGOFF &co, 22 King St, covent Garden. I'm pretty sure this was the old department store that sold it rather than the maker's name.

18lb dumbells, no maker's name, but very nice.

If this upload works I'll put a couple more pics of other dumbells up.

Here is a wonderful video of David P. Webster OBE.

Powerhouse Fitness was founded in 1980 by David P. Webster OBE. Two of his sons, Nigel and David Jnr. took over the company from 1983 and built it to its current position. In 2008 David Webster Senior, celebrated his 80th birthday and to celebrate his life, his family commissioned this special commemorative video that looks back at DPW's life in sport and his many achievements.
