I found on another site the Joe Kinney video is to be re-released with an extra 2 hours footage of the man himself offering training tips etc Now I haven't seen the original so don't know it's worth but for those who have seen the original with the bonus of the 2 hour extras does the new release look like a good buy?

I posted this on the GB and it's nowhere to be seen. All I can think is because it's on John Woods site, someone who I believe some members of the grip world have emnity.

Guys, I was thinking about this, after all of this talk about the increased difficulty of the new RT handles, why not hold a little friendly online contest - who can lift the most. I think my best is around the 175lb mark, achieved with a meager 7" set of hands. If we put that into an equation, that comes to 25 Pound per Inch. Let's see who score the best in regards to the Pounds per Inch system.

Friday

The last couple of days I've done a little stretching to try and ease some of the aches and pains whilst keeping in some kind of readiness for Saturday's ''Whey Power Challenge''. One of the issues with the more frequent training I've recently adopted from a certain David Horne (who he?? ha ha) is a feeling of 'shouldn't I be training or something' on rest days. This is probably a combination of a lack of caffeine from the usual pre-workout brown stuff and no endorphins floating around ...

As many of you know, I am new to the whole grip training by using handgrippers world... but have been able to progress fairly quickly by using various grippers including the Vulcan as it is, the Vulcan modified into a "secret weapon", the RB adjustable modified with a BTR grind and ground in fingergrips, the CoC collection, and a couple of hand dynamometers to mark the real progress.

Anyway, about a month ago I decided to try and find the most efficient and best method for improving ...

I have recently made a 7ft thick bar and a thick dumbell. I am toying with the idea of using just these for a while for bench pressing, bent over rows, 1 arm rows, shrugs. I'll be doing squats and trap bar lifts, with regular oly bars as well as kettlebell presses.

Has anyone here done this before? What were your results? I'm sure that it improved your grip, but what about the rest of the body? What sort of timeframe should I train with them, I was thinking of using them untill christmas ...

Is it true to think that a rounded edge disk will most usually be pre-war or just after

What's the 'rarest' UK disc to find, besides an Inch?

And do you know what an Inch disc would look like anyway? Is there a pic anywhere in your collection?

I found a one piece of steel there. 7 feet long, 2" thick bar, so that is a perfect Thickbar for me 33 kg´s is the weight of that. Also my my friend was ready to sell me some metal plates, nice to me. 80kg´s total. Those are perfect for my Old Aparatus, which need 30mm diameter hole discs. This was a Prologue to my training log, which start on sunday.

Last night's workout:

Squats: 100kg x 20 in just over 4 mins

Pull overs: 10 with 14lb block weight

Collapse.

I've incorporated 20 rep squats about once or twice a week since May when I started with 60kg at a bodyweight of about 140 lb. My current weight is 147 lb so I've made some gains in size, but not quite on the scale associated with 20 rep squats. I've clearly made gains in strength as back in May I was only doing 100kgx 5.

80kg x 20 had been a target, but I felt ...

Seen an advert on TV for a new site that buys your cd's, games and dvd's. All you do is enter the barcode on the label and they quote you there and then. I entered 8 cd's covering, Alison Moyet, Free, Hives, The Jam, Electric Six, Kate Bush and they offered me £4.02!! In the advert someones getting £50, must have traded about 200 cds for that! Ironically, the best offer I got waas for the Electric Six album at 88p! And it's shit!

I bought a crappy 12 year old subaru a few months ago when I returned to Edinburgh and it has been nothing but hassle.

Within a few days part of the exhaust needed repaired.

Then the radiator leaked and so did a water pump.

Then the handle came off the glovebox locking all the contents inside.

Then I read the paper today and saw this article about the bloke who sold me it

The last few weeks at the school we've been working on pressure point manipulation and pinching... which is fairly easy for most of the big strong guys, who don't really need it so much, but not very easy for the women and kids.

So I came up with a couple of nice little additions to use with the Vulcan and other grippers.

You can use a single pinch end piece if the gripper has an extended handle... like the one below. Or you can use two with a standard gripper (the CoC guide and sport ...

We had a beautiful day away to the seaside at Llandudno and the area the other day. On the way home I went and picked some old discs from a chap in Wigan. In fact I'd bought them not fully knowing what I'd bought. There was just under 300lb of weight there including George Grose, and more impressively some Charles Heap & Co, and Trevor discs. These were great finds, and I'm really pleased to have them in my collection, and of course use them. The Charles Heap discs are shown in the 1914 book ...

This was the best workout of my life, the wall fell over easily but just would not break, partly due to my seldge hammer coming loose and also because it was SOLID.

Guys,

Who would be interested in a grip comp in Edinburgh?

I am looking to get something organised for the future but not sure who else is in my area (or wants to travel) to a comp.

I have a garage which I can use for a daytime comp. It is part of a series of quiet lockups so the venue is not a problem and we can make as much noise as we want.

I just need competitors. Anyone interested?

I’ve now slightly changed the rules, as I didn’t want a load of different measurements for differing lengths/widths steel bars. So now the rules for all Braced Bends are:

5. A completed bend is when the bar has been bent into a "u" and the legs are parallel or beyond parallel to each other.

This just makes it far easier to remember and judge.

How are they for slipping around on the bar?

Venue: Sideropolis Gym

Date: 7th November

So, wrt my left arm this is what I'm doing:

Monday - 2.5" crusher/RT, sledge side levers, wrist curls

Thursday - 1HP, sledge front and rear levers, wrist curls

Now my hand, in particular my thumb, is happy with this frequency of workout. Anymore and it starts getting tired and my grip suffers. However, I'm feeling I could be hitting the forearms in between ...
