Re: Strongman shows/Acts
You should really challenge this guy David, since you're such a big fan of onefinger lifting
This is a DVD snapshot, so the quality sucks. Trying to figure out how to transfer DVD exerpts to the computer.
This was a Guinness World Record onefinger lift done by Tom "The Finger" Stensnes, November 30, 1991. Not sure if it still stands.
282,16 kg
Hurts just thinking about it

---------------------------------------------------------
And this is John Harry "SAMSON" Hasselquist. Oldest strongman in Norway, who used to tour all over Scandinavia in the 60's.
He's 68 years of age.
He's bending what looks to me a mid-length square steelbar.
During the bend he says; "20 years since I've done this...", then he says "I never should have done this.."

Mats, Pawel and everyone,
You're finding some great vids and pics of shows. This thread is like an encyclopedia.
Keep up the good work!
My finger lifting days are over!

Glad you like it David
As a big fan of Iron History, as you might know, I like to put the spotlight on the lesser famous strongmen of the old school that deserves attention

In my opinion this forum it should also teach young beginning his adventure
I remember as I began, I looked for everywhere, I wrote to every, I was hungry knowledge
this our common knowledge, we have her to give for others generations
