They are quite expensive, I signed up for the online one which saves a few bob.
The article talks about it being a good core exercise due to having to brace the midsection, as well as good for improving the bench press.

Edit: reading on a bit further there's also an article on the one hand deadlift, in which messrs Horne and Gardener get an honourable mention Cool

I think i am seeing carryover already to my normal bench - and that's after 2 sessions of one arm benching. Today 140kg and 145kg flew up. In the past these weights have always felt heavy. I need a new bench so i can bench in the rack again - then i'll go for some big weights. Back to the one arm bench on Monday.

As I said the barbell feels light after One Hand work.

I think this challenge is helping my overhead pressing. I had not pressed anything for several months prior to this challenge due to various shoulder issues (both
rotator cuffs, inflamed bicep tendon etc) and I basically had been unable to pick up a mug from an overhead cupboard.

Although, my traditionally stronger right arm is still lagging, I managed 100kg log push press on Tuesday which was a 2009 goal for me. Only the second time I
have had 100kg overhead ever.

Small potatoes for many but great boost for me.

Still trying this but the easy gains have dried up. No pb's at the last session.

L= 50kg x 6
R = 50kg x 0!!! Just didn't happen for me. Got 3 last week but nothing today.
I did some timed holds to failure before this exercise and I was just too wobbly after that.

Getting there VERY slowly.... wanting 10x50kg

Worked up to
R=6x50kg...failed 7th on lockout http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pNEmfuurg8c
L 2x50kg... No pain on this side now. Still much weaker though.

Not sure if anyone else is still doing this one but I still enjoy the lift. I am just getting back in to it as my gym does not have a 55kg+ dumbell and I only just got a 'bench' so I can do it in the garage.

Maybe Iam a tight Scotsman butI defy you to find a cheaper more sturdy 'bench' than this. It comes in any colour as long
as it is concrete. I need to find another one so I can do inclines!

R = 6 x 45kg L = 8 x 45kg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y7WVV754_l4
R = 1 x 50kg L = 5 x 50kg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NOuK73GlUVI

If I get in to pb territory I will display all the plates etc....and I might try a more flattering angle as well!

Good to hear your shoulder is back to normal.

The concrete block feels okay once you have warmed up a bit but sometimes in a moment of weakness I put a towel over it. But I feel guilty about such luxuries. Laughing
